Introduction to Aviation

Description: The movement of people, materials and goods by road, pipeline, air, rail and water. How transportation works and the careers that make it work.
Aviation Technology I

Grades: 10, 11, 12
Description: Students are provided with an understanding of the science of flight and include the history and possible career paths within the aviation industry. Aviation covers physics, the relationships of weight and balance, principles of navigation and flight control, ground and airport operations and services, and Federal Aviation Administration regulations.
Drone Technology

Grades: 10-12
Description: The Unmanned Aircraft Systems course will teach students a basic understanding of recreational and commercial unmanned aircraft operations. Identify special-use airspace where UAS usage may be prohibited. Understand weather and how it affects flight of UAS. Understand general loading and performance data, airport operations. When students complete this course, they will have a general understanding and knowledge of the operation and uses of UAS as they pertain to the world of Aviation.

Prerequisite: Aviation Technology I
Description: Students will be prepared to pass the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) private pilot verbal exam. Work more on aircraft construction and engineering. Get into instrument flying.
